Aga Khan Foundation International Scholarship Programme. This scholarship has to do with providing a number of awards to brilliant but needy students from developing countries across the globe.
The foundation provides scholarships for postgraduate studies each year to students with good academics. The award/scholarship gives students no/partial financial backing provided they fall under students with outstanding grades from developing countries.
This clearly explains that the Aga Khan Foundation International Scholarship programme has good plans for students in developing countries.
The scholarship, however, gives a 50% grant to students whilst it gives out a 50% loan basis via a contentious application process once every year.
Aga Khan scholarship has many host countries around the world with the exception of countries like the UK, Germany, Sweden, Austria, Denmark, The Netherlands, Italy, Norway, and Ireland.
Nonetheless, the foundation doesn’t accept short-term courses but rather dishes out sensitivity to requests for master’s level courses. On the part of applications for PhD programmes, the foundation is yet to consider.
The foundation has its own targeted group around the world for which they prefer funding and wishes they apply.
The targeted groups are Nationals from;
Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Syria, Egypt, Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Madagascar, Mozambique, France, Portugal, UK, USA and Canada.
